John won the Rookie of the Year award in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. "Going into the series I didn't really feel like a rookie having raced for a year in (Grand-Am) Rolex, which is sort of the parent series," John said Tuesday. "But the challenge of Continental was actually a lot more than I anticipated. The car is just so different to what I'd driven before. ... But once I sort of adapted my style to the car, the Continental series was some of the most fun racing I've had in my whole career, as far as being able to run side-by-side and really fight hard with guys for the win"
John teamed with Matt Bell in the No. 9 Stevenson Motorsports Camaro GS. They won at Road America and at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and finished seventh in the series standings.
