John Drives from 17th to P2 to Deliver a Podium Finish at the Glen !

Billy Johnson held off a furious charge from John  to win the Grand-Am Continental Tire 150 Grand-Am race Friday at Watkins Glen International. He finished 1.576 seconds ahead of John. Great job to Nicholas Eddy, Grant Ford, Christopher Frankenstein Vallely and the rest of the GS crew. Matt Bell started in P6 and drove to the lead.  Unfortunately the team got pushed back to 17th position as they had to recover from a 30 second stop and go penalty for a pit stop violation.  The car hit a piece of pit equipment, a violation.  But once again a great drive by John through the field  and delivered a second place podium finish.

"Edwards was coming," Johnson said. "He was way far back and I knew he was on a mission."  "I had a couple of shots at him but couldn't (overtake) him," John said.   Said Johnson, "Our car was quick right off of the restarts and his car came in a little bit later, so when he didn't get me into (Turn) 1, I thought I'd be OK."
